Brand Essence

Since its foundation in 1991, mckimm has built a reputation for excellence.

mckimm is recognised as one of Melbourne’s most accomplished design and construction practices, bringing a holistic approach and specialist knowledge to contemporary residential design, interiors and development. Through the seamless integration of design, project management and construction, mckimm’s passion and experience yield transformative results, creating contemporary homes that better the lives of those who experience them every day.

With an existing brand, mckimm approached Seesaw to evolve and elevate its branded assets and storytelling. Like mckimm, our approach was holistic. We re-examined the brand from every angle to find opportunities to reposition mckimm as a clear leader in their space. This included a range of project marketing and construction collateral, as well as a refreshed digital presence, environmental signage and wayfinding.

For the sales kits, a take-home presentation folder was crafted to complement the inhouse agent kits. Produced using a thick black card with two internal pockets for floorplans and renders, the sales kit is an impressive expression of the brand which clients keep and continue to refer to, rather than throw away.

A new series of agent kit binders for each of mckimm’s hero developments was designed with a drawer for housing samples, and a binder to display renders and project details. The page sizes differ for each section, allowing for easy navigation while walking a client through the project.

Highlighting mckimm’s attention to detail and insistence upon the highest quality materials, the door handle of the display suite was fabricated by carving the wordmark from timber.

A series of three digital signage screens in the street-facing window of mckimm’s office created a dynamic display for sales and brand communication. The screens work in sync: one features copy, one features renders, and one plays curated video snapshots. These three screens can be easily updated with new information and feature projects, creating a future-proof and flexible system which gives mckimm a clear and elevated presence among its local demographic.

For the brand’s digital expression, a new website was designed which would tell the mckimm story, highlight significant homes, showcase current developments, and profile the team. A horizontal scroll tells the story of each project, with a layered approach to images, while the tittle of the “i” in the mckimm wordmark acts as a cursor.
